Q4 2019

12 MEA MARKETS / Q4 2019 , WR180003 A Global Understanding, With A European Touch EuroTech aims to provide professional IT project delivery services alongside trustworthy and impartial expert IT advice to clients. Earlier this year we caught up withManaging DirectorMichael Andersenwho provided us with a detailed glimpse into the innerworkings of EuroTech and the award-winning solutions they consistently offer. Over the last decade EuroTech has endeavoured to deliver best in class, European quality, flexible outsourced IT support for the ever-changing UAE market. Today the firm has expanded its horizons and by not only providing robust IT support to SMEs throughout the region, but also as a provider of IT infrastructure, AV as well as CCTV & Access Control installations for construction project across the UAE. “When a firm hires a construction company or an interior design firm because they are redesigning a new office or moving into a new one, we get involved as early as possible to help with the AV and IT design of the office. This includes cabling, access control, CCTV, UPS and then it moves onto the AV part.” EuroTech’s key services revolve around providing best in class audio-visual solutions that meet the diverse needs of their clients. As a by-product of this core goal, the firm also helps companies to increase their productivity and performance through a carefully planned and well-managed IT infrastructure. Whilst on the topic of EuroTech’s mission, Michael comments on the steps the firm takes to ensure that they are able to achieve their overall goals. “Here at EuroTech, quality is one of our key offerings, as we want to be known as a company that does amazing work. If you look at our previous projects, our cabling for example is finished only to the highest levels of workmanship and done and to an impeccable level. Strong focus is placed on attention to detail and we take immense pride in our work. We aim to deliver that same quality- standard; across every project and to every client. “ “Our mission is to be a leader and a company recognised for being uncompromising when it comes to delivering quality services across the Middle East. One of the ways we can remain in control of this, is by keeping everything in-house. A significant portion of companies will take a project on as an IT company, but they will subcontract or outsource elements of the work to other businesses. That is not us. When we get involved in a project, the project managers and the presales individuals are our own staff. The drawings are produced by our in-house team, and the installation is done by our own EuroTech technicians. This combined with a very low staff turnover, enables us to be the best we can be, and to ensure that what we promise is what we deliver; time and time again.” “In addition to this, our partnerships are also a key factor in our overall success. Currently, we have partnerships with companies such as Cisco and Microsoft, to name just two. We work closely alongside these firms and in return we receive official products. Everything we buy is official and we pride ourselves on that.” Working behind the scenes to ensure that deadlines are met and a quality service is delivered is the passionate, innovative and hard-working team which forms the backbone of EuroTech. When discussing the internal culture, Michael is keen to highlight the relaxed and welcoming nature of EuroTech, as well as the significant role the team play in the overall success of the business. “Here at EuroTech, we have a very young and motivated team that supports us. We have a very relaxed office environment, designed to be a nice place to work and – more importantly - where people want to work. Additionally, there is always at least one social activity which happens every month with the staff. We are a young, social company, which is why a lot of people stay.” It seems almost inevitable for businesses in all industries to face and overcome challenges as they look to grow and establish themselves. At EuroTech, one of the biggest challenges they face is from companies who offer a lower price, but use second hand, and at times, poorer quality products. Going into further detail, Michael reflects on the impact of this competition on EuroTech’s growth. “It is difficult at times to compete against companies who are not following the right path as it creates unfair competition within the industry. There are numerous IT companies which advertise that they have the capabilities, but there are a very few of them that are able to follow through on that promise.” As for what the future holds for the firm, the team at EuroTech will continue to deliver an impeccable service, one which not only ensures that they are able to fulfil the requirements that have been set by their clients, but one which exceeds their every expectation. “We want each client to be delighted with the work we have done” says Michael. Bringing the interview to a close, Michael signs off by revealing the exciting plans which lie in the pipeline for the firm, touching on EuroTech’s ambitions to further expand the business into different industries in the years to come.
